Pitching with Loft and Pitching vs Full Swing Shots

I'm going to get you back on track with your pitching with golf technique and instruction that you're just going to love. It's the reason why you need loft, and here's why.

A lot of you hit a lot of pitch shots that, after it's in the air, it maybe has 2, 3, 4 feet of loft to it, and when it hits the ground, it takes off running and runs over the green.

A couple of reasons why you struggle with not getting the ball up in the air: Number one, you have to start using your pitching wedge or your sand wedge and your lob wedge, not your 9 iron to chip with. You need a loftier golf club.

Number two, check the ball position. Make sure it's in the middle of your stance and your weight's on your left leg.

And lastly, make sure that you start hitting down on the golf ball so it'll go up.

Some golf technique and instruction advice I have to give you is don't get all hung up on backspin. Backspin's great, but would you rather have a golf ball drop straight out of the sky, or a golf ball that had a lot of revolutions going backwards?

I'd like the one that drops straight out of the sky. That will slow down quicker than one with backspin.

So, don't forget, for more loft put the ball in the middle of your stance with a little weight left. But make sure you use your sand wedge and your loftier club, maybe your loft wedge to pitch with, and not your 9 iron or your pitching wedge. Your pitching wedge is okay, but it'll go off a little flatter.

And lastly, the golf technique and instruction never to forget is, don't forget to follow through low, so you can hit down so the ball will go up.

Now, there is a big difference between the golf swing basics of pitching the golf ball in and around the edges of the green, over bunkers, over little trees, over a pond, 30 yards, 20 yards, 40 yards, and the golf swing basics of hitting your full pitch shot swing.

Whenever I'm talking about chipping and pitching, I'm talking about golf shots that are in and around the green. If I'm not talking about that, then I'm talking about your full swing.

The technique to hit to the green in front of you is ball in the middle, weight left, handle forward. And it's an arm swing.

Now, if you want to hit a full wedge shot, it will go way over the green.

With the 90-yard swing, you can see a difference with your golf swing basics at address. Your body turns, your shoulders turn, which moves the weight a little bit over to the right side, and the arms swing up and down.

As you start to bring the golf club back, your shoulders start to turn and your weight moves backwards a little bit. That's a full golf swing.

And the 40-yard pitch shot is a big difference in the two swings. One, the 100-yard wedge was just like the driver swing, but with a wedge in your hand. The pitch shot is a miniature little tiny golf swing that you don't move any weight to your right side.

I hope that clears it up for you, and thanks.

Golf Driving tips

1. Stance
The power of your drive all begins with your stance. There are two things you want to do with your stance; increase the distance of the stance from the ball and spread your feet wider. By spreading your feet wider, you will have better balance and control allowing you to get a short and wide swing. In turn, this will allow you to get the control and power necessary for a strong drive.

2. Driving motion
Perfecting your driving motion can be particularly difficult, especially if you are a beginner. Getting a handle of your weight control is perhaps the most difficult aspect to your driving motion, but quite possible the most important part. You want to take your time and swing in rhythm.

3. Releasing the power
Driving the ball inquires a great deal of control and power together. If you have great control but no power, you will lack the distance required to set yourself up for a solid score. You want to build your power and release it throughout the swing. By keeping your swing short and wide, you will have great control over your swing while still releasing the power.

4. Know yourself
While there are a number of free driving tips that can be given to you, nobody knows you better than you. If you listen to others and swing outside of your boundaries, you will decrease your control and perhaps your power. It is vital that you distribute your weight evenly and stay balanced throughout the entire shot.

5. Practice
Practice, Practice, Practice!!! Go to the driving range as much as possible to help get a feel for your stance, your swinging motion and the power. Eventually you can take what you've learned on the driving range and apply it to your game on the golf course.

6. Imagine
Although it may sound clichè(c), it is crucial that you believe in your shot and your swing. Your odds of striking the ball solidly improve if you imagine the ball landing in the middle of the fairway.

By taking these free driving tips and applying them to your game on the golf course, you will find yourself striking the golf ball on the tee much more smoothly with great balance and power.

Some swing tips

So, your golf swing needs improvement and you know it? Here are some tips in making better golf swings.

Tip no. 1. A great golf swingg does not mean you have to swing with arms.

Behind your back, put your golf club while you turn your back to your target. It is like taking your club back as you hinge your arm at your shoulder.

You could also practice the drill known as no arms.

Tip no. 2. You should not forget cocking wrists.

Do not forget cocking your wrists. This might be difficult at first, but it will be natural to you with enough practice.

Tip no. 3. You should let the left arm clockwise slightly when you start the back swing.

It is not really something that you actually should remember. It naturally happens if you would just allow it. This just means that you should not resist this movement that is just natural. You might not notice it, but you might have been resisting this movement because this causes the head of your golf club to go open slightly when you swing it. Just allow it to happen.

Tip no. 4. Plant your feet firmly on the ground.

You might have copied this from baseball. That is, letting your foot heel in front to come above the ground when you swing your golf club back. Some people think that by doing this so, their back swing feels more huge.

It is something that seems lifting the front heel can easily make the body coil and for the tension to build that much harder. Letting the foot roll freely to the inside is fine. However, one should keep that foot on the ground to make golf back swing well-anchored.

Tip no. 5. From the bottom golf down swing.

Assuming that you accomplish all the drills correctly - from the golf stance, the golf grip you have, and your golf back swing. But you can still ruin everything if you begin the golf swing that you have with the shoulders. You might want to use a swing trigger to begin the golf down swing that you have with the lower part of your body.

Tip no. 6. And again, on your golf down swing. You should turn the belt buckle to your target.

Try turning your hips as powerful and fast as possible when you do your golf down swing, it works.

Tips to master the long put

Ever notice how many players neglect to practice the long putt? And then taking it one step further, how many players are "faced" with a long putt during their round? A long putt, in general, is any putt over 10 feet from the cup. Even the pros get a little any when they have to make a putt from this distance or beyond. There's a good reason the pros (and we) get ansy at this distance--it's because we usually miss the cup! And in some cases, we end up with the next putt being more difficult than the first.

But there are a couple of things we can do about this.

First, on a long putt the key factor is speed. Too hard and the ball will roll right on past the cup and who knows where it will stop. This is especially true if the green has any down slope on the far side of the cup.

The flip side of speed is that a ball that isn't hit hard enough will die before it gets close to the hole. In this case, the player didn't even give himself a chance to sink the ball. Pure physics--the ball has to at least reach the hole in order to fall into the hole.

A great little practice drill for improving speed is to get on the practice green and then putt a handful of balls to fartherst edge of the green. You're trying to get as close to the fringe as possible without actually getting "on" the fringe. By to the fringe instead of to a cup, you're focusing only on speed--there is no cup to distract you, only the far fringe.

Now another golf swing tip (and this one incorporates using the cup) is to play a little trick on your mind. Tell yourself, and believe it, that you don't care if you sink the ball on your next long putt. All you want to do is get within 5 feet of the hole, and you'll putt out from there. Forget the hole, just try to get within a five foot radius of the cup. Now, the trick of course, is you still aim for the cup, you still want this miracle putt to sink, but release the pressure from yourself. If it sinks, great! But if it stops within your five foot radius, well, that's great too.

Try these tips on the practice green and then take them with you on the course. You'll be pleased you did.

number 1 golf tip

By: Don Halloran (Article source http://www.articlesphere.com)
In golf courses all over the world, golfers continue to play, looking for new golf tips, changing their swing, changing their clubs, changing their clothes and trying to change everything because they sense that they have hit a plateau. This happened to me after I had been playing golf for 10 years. I kept playing with these frustrations for another 10 years until I discovered a one of the greatest of golf tips to overcome my frustration and reach a new level in my golf game.

I had become aware that when I was playing a round of golf most times I could play 5 or 6 holes of good golf and then I would have one bad shot or miss one short put. This would ruin my whole day and I could never get back on track. Several times I tried to have a few beers to get back on track. That didn't work either. It helped me deal with my frustration but did not improve my golf game.

After 20 years of playing golf, I learned how to deal with the mental problem of golf.

The No. 1 of golf tips that I learned was that I had to overcome the mental obstacle to good golf. I found a golf relaxation tape that taught me how to sort of hypnotize myself and completely focus on a good golf swing, even after a bad shot. There are a variety of methods to accomplish this No. 1 of golf tips, some through hypnosis, some through focus techniques and various other methods. I was able to overcome the mental obstacle through listening to tapes.

If you want to enjoy and play golf better, you must conquer the mental side of golf.
